He replied with unexpected sternness, "Don't EVER send an anonymous letter. That's the tool of a coward. If you feel strongly enough to say something, sign your name." It was a matter of honor. And I never have sent an anonymous letter, email or comment. I would find it shameful. There have been times when I haven't sent a letter or comment because there would be consequences that I didn't want to accept. (Even grown ups don't like to Get Into Trouble.) But that is a choice I have made after weighing the alternatives. The shame of not signing my name is not an option.
