Youngsters Collect Food As Part Of Summer Food Drive

Kensington-Berlin Rotary will continue to collect food until the end of August for Berlin Food Pantry.

Justin Skates (age 9) and Danielle Skates (age 13) proudly display the three grocery carts full of donations for the Summer Food Drive.

The Kensington-Berlin Rotary is grateful to Roger's Market IGA and it's wonderful customers for their generous support. Special Thanks for the time and efforts of Justin, Danielle and father, Scott for their time spent in the sun on August 4 collecting all those items going to the Berlin Food Pantry.

The Summer Food Drive will be running until the end of August. On Saturday, August 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., volunteers representing the Kensington-Berlin Rotary Club will be collecting items in front of Stop & Shop, 1135 Farmington Avenue, Berlin. Items that are most needed are tuna fish, peanut butter, cereal, paper products, and personal hygiene products.

Continuously available drop-off locations in Kensington include: Home Sweet Home Realty, 359 Main Street; UBI Credit Union, 40 Chamberlain Highway; and YMCA Marjorie Moore Child Development Center, 365 Main Street.  Other locations are Liberty Bank, 1169 Farmington Avenue, Berlin; and Image Ink, 102 Pane Road, Newington.
