Tubbs Wins Peronace Volunteer Award

Honor remembers the contributions of Richard Peronace to town's youth.

 

Lenny Tubbs was presented with the Richard Peronace Sr. Community Volunteer Award at the Annual UpBeat Picnic

The award remembers the service to youth by Richard Peronace Sr. by his wife and children. Richard Peronace Jr. presented the award to Tubbs.

"After the passing of our dad in 1993 the Berlin UpBeat created this award to be given to an outstanding volunteer in the community," Richard Peronace Jr. said. "Nineteen volunteers have been recognized since 1994. Dad was instrumental in the development of the annual UpBeat Picnic."

The previous winners of the award reads like a "Who's Who" of community volunteers. Lucian Giramonti, Officer Tom Hodolitz, Marsha Mitchell, William Mayer Sr., Bill Petit, John Tedesco, Eileen Thurston, Volunteer firefighters of Berlin, Mary Farone, Dwight Hewins, Al Pelligrinelli, Roger Perno, George Deliman, Joe Greco, Sandy Crowe, Patricia Tedesco, Molly Knapsack, Gary Brochu and finally Lenny Tubbs have been the winners.
