This Week All About Remembering Ryan Lee

In addition to the golf tournament, the foundation will host 3-on-3 basketball tournament and hosted miniature golf tournament and it's not too late to participate.

There is no measuring the impact Ryan Lee had on people's lives in his life, which was cut short when he was hit and killed by a car in New York City in 2011.

Last year his friends and family memorialized Lee with a sold-out golf tournament. This year, instead of just one day, the organizers will put on a week of events with something for everyone. Ryan Lee would have loved the three events, as they are three of the things he loved to do most.

First there was a mini-golf tournament at Safari Golf. Then there will be a 3-on-3-basketball tournament at Berlin High School. The week will culminate with the second annual Ryan T. Lee Golf Classic.

The Ryan T. Lee Memorial Foundation was founded in 2011 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to remembering the life and legacy of a special young man. Inspired by the selfless support of friends and family, the foundation was created as a way to transform a tragic loss into positive change. It is their hope that the charitable efforts of this organization will impact the lives of others in a manner that would make Ryan proud.

The Ryan T. Lee Foundation is dedicated to honoring the enduring spirit of a special young man by actively seeking out opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. The Foundation is committed to identifying effective ways to help individuals reach their goals and realize their dreams. In its first year, the funds raised have already gone to college scholarships, a special wheelchair for someone who could not afford it, blood donation drives, organ donor drives and other great causes.

The Ryan T. Lee 3-on-3-basketball tournament will take place Wednesday, August 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Berlin High School. There will be a high school division and an open division and each player will get a t-shirt. The tournament fee is $60 per team. Makes checks payable to: Ryan T. Lee Memorial Foundation Inc, Ryan Lee 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament, 103 Peter Parley Row, Berlin, CT 06037.

The golf tournament sold out last year so organizers may have a double shotgun at both 7:30 and 1 p.m. The tournament will be Friday, August 17 at Timberlin Golf Course. The event will once again feature 18-holes of golf at one of the premier public golf courses in the state, followed by a banquet dinner at the Aqua Turf in Southington, Connecticut. The event will also include a presentation of the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Scholarships, and a raffle and live auction.
