Huge Crowd Turns Out For Berlin Lions' Wine Tasting

Money will go to all of the Lions' charities.

A huge crowd turned out on a beautiful night to the Berlin Fairgrounds for the Annual Berln Lions Club Wine Tasting Saturday night.

The crowd was so large the Lions used two buildings to house the more than 50 vendors of wines, spirits, beers and cigars.

Locomotion provided the entertainment and many of the patrons danced along to the tunes in front of the stage.

"A lot of charities and organizations are having to cut back on the amount of money they give because it's tough out there," Organizer Ron Bosco said. "This money goes into our Lions Charities budget. All our giving comes from there and it allows us to continue to donate to youth organizations and other worthwhile places. We have had a little extra and we've been able to give more to the Berlin Food Pantry and the Berlin Relay for Life. We also work with the Relay so that if a Relay member sells a ticket, we give Relay $5 right back to them. We've also been able to donate to Hospital of Special Care and Gaylord Hospital. All of those donations are on top of our usual giving to youth clubs and organizations, Fidelco and Diabetes awareness. Everyone could use a little extra money in these times and we are trying to help. People can be assured the money raised by the Lions goes right back to worthy causes in town and in the area."
