Editor’s Note: It’s the holiday season and for many, that means something more than finding the perfect gift or going to parties. For social service groups or charities, it’s the time when they reach out for that extra bit of help. Over the next several weeks Patch will profile some of the charitable groups working in your towns and tell you what they need.
Buckingham Community Services, Inc.
DESCRIPTION:
With offices around the state including one in Berlin, Buckingham Community Services provides vocational, employment, and supported living services to mentally and physically disabled adults on a daily basis.
WHAT THEY NEED:
Food and fixings for a Christmas gathering on Dec. 23 for 50 of the agency’s clients. The group also could use hats and gloves for adult men and women, small gifts and gift cards ($5-$20) to area businesses (McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Wal-Mart, Target, Burger King, Stop & Shop, Best Buy); board games, art supplies, CD players; Christmas wreaths and wreath decorations; Funds or grocery gift cards to purchase food items not donated. We would like to give each consumer one gift for the holiday.
