Youth Sports: 9-10 Baseball Wins Again

Berlin beats Farmington 4-0. 9-10 softball loses opener in District 5 play.

Berlin's 9-10 All-Star team was victorious Tuesday evening against Farmington, winning 4-0 at Trumbull Park in Plainville. 

The Berlin team was led by David Biscoglio who pitched a two-hit shutout while striking out eight. 

Tyler Cop came in to close out the game's last out.

At the plate, Berlin was led by Ryan Hyde who went 3-for-3 at the plate. Biscoglio had two hits and Ryan Terlecky's third inning single drove in two runs. 

Berlin will play Plainville Saturday at 1 p.m. at McCabe Waters in Bristol.

Softball, 9-10

Wallingford 17, Berlin 5: The host team came out ready to play and took a 10-1 lead after two innings and never looked back.

Michelle Cohen pitched the entire game but was not helped by her defense. Alexa Lanteri did have a tremendous catch in right field.

Phoebe Hurd, Cohen, Lanteri and Lindsay Walsh had hits for Berlin.

Berlin plays Thursday night at 5:45 against Farmington-Plainville at Prageman Park in Wallingford.
