The CIAC released state tournament pairings this afternoon and three Berlin teams will jump right into action.
The volleyball team, seeded 18th in Class L with an 8-10 record, plays at North Haven Thursday. A win would give the Redcoats a chance to play against Platt of Meriden on Saturday at 7 p.m. Platt beat Berlin twice during the regular season and finished 16-2.
The boys soccer team is ranked 14th and got a favorable draw. Berlin finished 8-4-4 and will play host to Platt Tech on Friday. A win would give Berlin a shot at third-seeded University High School on Nov. 14. University finished 12-1-2 in the tech school league.

The girls soccer team is ranked seventh and got a bye in the first round. The Redcoats will play host to a second round game on Saturday at 2 p.m. against the winner of Wilton (8-3-5) and New Fairfield (7-8-1). Wilton is a traditional power playing in the tough FCIAC and the home of USA soccer legend Kristine Lilly. That would be a tough draw for Berlin.
