The week just keeps getting better for the Berlin girl's golf team. Tuesday the Redcoats captured the Pisk Memorial Tournament championship against New Britain. Wednesday they defeated previously unbeaten Farmington to win the CCC West Conference title and on Thursday they routed a field of 12 teams to win the CCC Conference Tournament. Berlin's 18-hole team score of 326 was a whopping 29 strokes better than second place Farmington, who finished with a team total of 355.
Berlin was led by Julia Kemmling and Victoria Fagan who both turned in outstanding rounds of 77 and 79 respectively. Kemmling's 77 was the second best score in the tournament, Fagan's the third. Emily Stickel and Emily Deutsch rouded out the team scoring, both shooting solid rounds of 85. Kemmling, Fagan, Stickel and Deutsch were all named to the All-CCC Tournament Team. Kelly Whaley of Farmington was Tournament Medalist with an incredible round of one over par, 73.

"Three huge victories in three days. 45 holes of golf in hot, humid weather. We are taking Friday off, the girls have earned it," Berlin coach Jim Barnes said. "We will get back to it over the weekend and next Monday as we prepare for the State Championship at Orange Hills next Tuesday.
"I couldn't be more proud of how this team has performed over the past week, particuarly over the past two days. We are playing our best golf as the season is winding down. Just 18 more holes of golf to play. It's time to go make our dream come true."
Fagan, bound for LIU to play golf, and Stickel, are the senior co-captains on the team and both had solid rounds.
Stickel recently signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Division II LeMoyne College in Syracuse on a combined athletic and academic scholarship. LeMoyne is a fairly new team. Stickel was very intent on attending a small school. When she and her parents met the coach it was the perfect match for her. She will play right away with a lot of opportunities and great education.
