Post 68 Wins First Two Zone Games

The Berlin Post 68 American Legion baseball team took a doubleheader from East Haddm to win its first two games in the zone.

Game 1:  Berlin 6  East Haddam 1: Austin Barnes (1-0) pitched a complete game two-hitter.  Offensively Barnes and Will Matuszak had three hits apiece, while Brendan Germano who had two hits and three RBIs.

Berlin tallied 15 hits in the game. 

Game 2:  Berlin 2  East Haddam 0: Will Matuszak carried  a no-hitter into the seventh and then Sean Sylvester came on to pitch out of a bases loaded jam getting a double play to end the game. 

Offensively Jamie Brancato had both RBIs, one coming on a suicide squeeze and the other on a ground out. 

Berlin starts the season 2-0 in Zone 3 and is 2-2 overall
