Meriden Post 45 defeated Berlin 3-2 Sunday in the completion of Friday’s suspended game.
Meriden led 1-0 until Berlin put up single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take a 2-1 lead off starter Mike Barillaro.
Will Matuszak walked with the bases loaded in the fifth and Sean Sylvester singled home a run in the sixth.
Meriden scored on a safety squeeze in the seventh. and then scored the game-winner on a Berlin error in the bottom of the eighth inning.
With the win Meriden finished second in Zone 3 with a 14-10 zone record and 15-11 overall.
Berlin finishes 13-11 in Zone 3 and 13-14-1 overall.
Post 68 begins state tourney play-ins on Tuesday against Wethersfield in Simsbury at 1:30 p.m. If it wins it will play Simsbury at 4:30. If Berlin survives Tuesday they would travel to play Zone 5 runner up Bethel at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
