Parks and Recreation Sets Basketball Evalutation Schedule

Town will run rec. leagues for boys and girls from third through eighth grades.

 

The Berlin Parks and Recreation Department will be accepting registrations in person or by mail for the Winter Youth Basketball programs for boys and girls in grades 3rd through 8th (9th grade for girls only) starting on Monday, October 1 at the Parks and Recreation Department. Deadline to register is November 1, 7 p.m., only if space is still available.  Space is limited for all age groups.  Completed forms, along with a check, can be dropped off in the yellow mailbox at the Community Center, after office hours.

When registering, complete player evaluation time on registration form at Parks and Recreation Department or if registering by mail please indicate on the form. Space is limited for evaluation times. Teams will practice once a week. Coach’s children do not need to attend evaluations since they will automatically be placed on a team.

The fees for boys and girls divisions are as follows: $70 from October 1 through November 1. A late fee of $80 will be charged for registrations taken from November 2 through November 9 and only if space is available. Once evaluations are held, a fee of $90 will be charged only if there are any spaces on existing teams.

Girl’s information – All game times are subject to change based on the number of teams and facility availability.

Girls Grades 3 & 4 – Player evaluations will be held on Saturday, November 10 at Willard School.  Girls must attend the following evaluation time - 11 a.m. to noon. After this date players will be notified by coaches as to what team they are on and will be given a practice and game schedule. Games will be played Saturdays at Willard 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Limit of 60.

Girls Grade 5 & 6 – Player evaluations will be held on Saturday, November 10 at Willard School. Girls must attend the following evaluation time - 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. After this date players will be notified by coaches as to what team they are on and will be given a practice and game schedule. Games will be played Saturdays at Willard 9 to 11 a.m. Limit of 40.

Girls Grades 7, 8 & 9 – Player evaluations will be held on Saturday, November 10 at Berlin High School, B gym. Girls must attend the following evaluation time - 8 to 9 a.m. After this date you will be notified by coaches as to what team they are on and will be given a practice and game schedule. Games will be played Saturdays from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at BHS B gym. Limit of 40 but may change based on the number of teams and facility availability. 

Boys Grades 3 & 4 – Player evaluations will be held on Saturday, November 10 at Griswold Cafeteria. Boys must attend one of the following evaluation times 8 to 9 a.m., 9 to 10 a.m. or 10 to 11 a.m. After this date players will be notified by coaches as to what team they will be on and will be given a practice and game schedule. Games will be played Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Griswold Cafeteria. Limit of 100.

Boys Grades 5 & 6 – Player evaluations will be held on Saturday, November 10 at McGee Middle School gym. Boys must attend one of the following evaluation times 11 a.m. to noon or noon to 1 p.m. After this date players will be notified by coaches as to what team they will be on and will be given a practice and game schedule. Games will be played Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Willard gym and/or McGee Middle School gym. Limit of 60.

Games will be played Saturdays from 8:00-11:00a.m. at BHS B gym and/or McGee Middle School gym. Limit of 80.
