Berlin Redcoat Freshmen run over Northwest Catholic, 42-6

Young gridders win third game of the season.

The Berlin High School freshman football team brought a grueling ground game into West Hartford Thursday afternoon at Northwest Catholic High School methodically pounding out over 300 yards on the ground and tallying its third win of the season.

Six different Redcoats crossed the goal line for Berlin in the victory. Jake Loiselle, Garrett Guite, Ryan Cop, Shane Nelson, Zack Pajor and Vinny Costa all scored for Berlin.

As impressive as the offense was, the defense was not to be outdone and shut down their opponent not allowing a NWC first down the entire first half. The defense seemed to have total control from the start notching multiple sacks throughout the game. It added a third quarter interception by Owen Taylor which shut down one of the few NWC drives.
