Connecticut Spirit Wins 2014 CT District 6th Grade AAU Basketball Championship

The 6th-Grade Connecticut team defeated Ridgefield this weekend to capture the state AAU Championship.

It's back-to-back state championships for the Connecticut Spirit 6th grade girls team.

Coached by Adam and Amber Litwinko of Berlin, the Spirt captured their second consecutive Connecticut AAU Division 1 gold medal the weekend of May 3-4 winning five games at the tourney held in New Haven.

The 6th grade Spirit girls won the championship by beating Ridgefield 30-20. It's their second gold medal in the Connecticut Division AAU State Championships — the girls were the 5th grade champs last year.

Congrats to the CT Spirit 6th Grade Championship Win! You forgot to mention that this years CT Spirit 5th Grade Team followed along in the same tradition as the 6th graders; and retained the Gold Championship for their division in State Championships this year too! Go Spirit!
