Connecticut Spirit Wins 2014 CT District 6th Grade AAU Basketball Championship

The 6th-Grade Connecticut team defeated Ridgefield this weekend to capture the state AAU Championship.


It's back-to-back state championships for the Connecticut Spirit 6th grade girls team.

Coached by Adam and Amber Litwinko of Berlin, the Spirt captured their second consecutive Connecticut AAU Division 1 gold medal the weekend of May 3-4 winning five games at the tourney held in New Haven.

The 6th grade Spirit girls won the championship by beating Ridgefield 30-20. It's their second gold medal in the Connecticut Division AAU State Championships — the girls were the 5th grade champs last year.
