Berlin U11 Girl's Soccer Knocks Rocky Hill Out Of State Cup

Boltz have won three games in the Cup and move on to the quarterfinals.

The Rocky Hill Rockets U-11 Girl's Soccer team took a 1-0 lead into halftime at home at West Hill School against the Berlin Boltz in the third round of the CJSA State Cup. 

Berlin rallied for three goals in the second half, however, and eliminated the host team 3-1.

Berlin got goals from Marta Mazurek, Nikki Baedor and Rebecca Mayer in the hard-fought win. Lexi Martino was solid in goal for the winners. The defense was led by Mazurek, Amy Kuckel, Baedor, Kaitlin DeCamp, Hailey Nardelli and Maria Butrimas. Zoe Walk and Niyanna Allen were dangerous on offense. 

Rocky Hill played very well in the tournament and won two games, 7-0 over Wethersfield and 3-1 over Westport White. 

Berlin, who has now beaten North Haven 4-1, Avon 3-1 and Rocky Hill 3-1, advances to the fourth round, the quarterfinals of the State Cup, where it will play Southbury United on or before June 1 at a site to be determined.
