The Berlin swim team beat rival Plainville, 96-82 in its first meet of the season at Plainville High School.
Kelsey Kozikowski led the Berlin swimmers with wins in the 200 freestyle (26.10) and the 100 fly (1:03.66). Joanna Wojtun won the 200 IM in 2:29.20. Emily Devivo took first in the backstroke with a time of 1:10.69 and freshman Olivia DeGroff won the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.92.
Berlin is 1-0 while Plainville fell to 0-3.
VOLLEYBALL
Bristol Eastern 3, Berlin 0
Bristol Eastern beat Berlin 3-0 in a CCC South division game. The scores were: 25-13, 25-6 and 25-14.
Giorgia Rossetto had 15 service receptions and four kills for the Redcoats while Kailene Rampone had seven service receptions and Kristina Hagmeier totaled six service receptions.
Berlin is now 1-2.
GIRLS SOCCER
Berlin 6, Bristol Central 3
Michelle Grieco tallied three goals and Bianca Jaques had two goals each to lead Berlin past Bristol Eastern in girls soccer. Berlin moves to 1-1-1 with the victory.
Lauren Roe also added a goal for the Redcoats.
