Berlin Girls Shine In Soccer At Nutmeg Games
Local girls dot the rosters of the top two teams in U11 soccer.
Eight members of the successful Berlin Boltz U11 played in the championship game of the Nutmeg Games on two different teams.
Three girls played for Bristol, who won the Gold Medal 4-1 on Penalty Kicks after the teams tied 1-1 after regulation and overtime.
Five girls played for Foundation Soccer Club and they won the Silver Medal.
Emma Norton scored the goal for Foundation and Zoe Walk made her penalty kick. Rebecca Mayer and Hailey Nardelli made their penalty kicks in the shootout.
Playing for Bristol were: Hailey Nardelli, Amy Kuckel and Rebecca Mayer.
Playing for Foundation were: Zoe Walk, Nikki Baedor, Lexi Martino, Emma Norton and Lea Cabral.
