Berlin Girl's Golf Now 13-1

Team played in pouring rain and still put up a good score.

The Berlin Girls Golf team extended it's season record to 13 wins against 1 loss after defeating Hall and Northwest Catholic Wednesday in a tri-match at Rockledge Golf Course. Final team scores were, Berlin 177, Hall 196 and Northwest Catholic 201.

Berlin's balanced scoring in very difficult, rainy conditions, was the key to victory. Ashley D'Attilio's 42 was good for match medalist honors.  She was followed closely by Julia Kemmling with a 43, Emily Deutsch with a 44 and Caroline D'Attilio with a 48.

Berlin's next match is next Wednesday against Northwest Catholic at Timberlin Golf Course.

"The girls really showed some mental toughness today," Berlin coach Jim Barnes said. "The rains came just as the first group was teeing off and continued throughout the day. At one point many of the greens were puddled with casual water. Drives would just hit and plug. It would have been easy to throw in the towel. A 177 team score in these conditions was remarkable. I couldn't be more proud of the effort."
