Berlin Freshmen Win Fifth In A Row

Platt of Meriden latest victim of young Redcoats.

The Berlin freshman football team defeated visiting Platt 36-0 at Sage park on Thursday bringing their record to 6-2.  Over the last five games the Freshman footballers have outscored their opponent 188-12 including three shutouts.

When asked about his teams performance Coach Aresimowicz stated, "I'm really proud of how the boys have jelled together and play as a team on every down. There's no superstar on this team, just a bunch of guys who work exceptionally hard at winning".

With four to six different players finding the end-zone in each of the last five  games it proves that they are a well balanced team with a lot of grit scoring on both rushing and passing plays.

Not only are they well balanced on offense but the defensive rotation has proved to be successful as well allowing their opponents to cross the goal line only twice during this win streak.

"After a few early season adjustments the defense has settled in and are now playing great football," says Aresimowicz and last Thursdays performance was no exception shutting out the Panthers and causing 4 turnovers in the process including two interceptions by Nick Perrone.

Next up for the freshman is an away game at Bloomfield.
