Berlin Football Rolls Over Weaver 47-0

Redcoats now 4-0 heading into big showdown with NW Catholic.

 

The Berlin Redcoats' football team walked all over Weaver in Hartford Saturday and cruised to a 47-0 victory.

Junior quarterback Mitch Williams was 8-for-12 passing and threw three touchdowns for Berlin.

The Redcoats took a 28-0 lead after one period and led 41-0 at halftime.

Berlin also got 98 yards from Justin Gombotz on the ground while Scott McLeod added 43 yards.

Gombotz scored first on a 34-yard run and then caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Williams.

Tyler Bouchard grabbed a 22-yard touchdown catch from Williams and Gombotz ran in the conversion. Gombotz then added the last points on the last play of the first quarter on a 27-yard touchdown run.

In the second quarter, Tyler Undercuffler pulled in a 16-yard TD reception from Williams. Kevin Main, a senior tri-captain scored on a 3-yard run to give Berlin an incredible halftime lead.

Eric Garcia finished off the scoring with a 14-yard TD run in the third quarter.
