Berlin Football Improves To 5-0 With Win Over NW Catholic

Redcoats beat Indians, 27-12 under the lights in West Hartford.

 

Justin Gombotz ran for 128 yards with two touchdowns, two interceptions on defense and a touchdown pass to lead the Berlin Redcoats past host Northwest Catholic in West Hartford, 27-12.

Berlin improved to 5-0 with the win while Northwest fell to 3-2.

The Redcoats scored first when Mike Pomain intercepted a Northwest pass and returned it 22 yards for a touchdown.

A Gombotz touchdown made it 14-0 early in the second half.

Northwest made a comeback but the biggest play again came from Gombotz who running from the quarterback spot threw a long touchdown pass to Scott McLeod covering 65 yards.

The Redcoats play at home Friday night against Rockville.
