Rick and Kyle Kureczka walked towards me in the crowded Super Bowl Village and what a pair, father in an Aaron Hernandez jersey and Patriots hat, son representing for Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw.

The road to the Super Bowl took nine years for Rick, he said, after repeatedly trying to win tickets through the Patriots and the NFL but coming up short every year.

But not this one.

After encouraging friends and family members to enter to help his chances, his niece got the envelope he’s been waiting for for nine years. Although Rick and his family found out around Thanksgiving, they waited to tell son Kyle until the right moment. That day was Christmas morning. The whole family besides Kyle knew what his present was and once he opened it, he couldn’t believe it.

So today father and son hit Super Bowl Village in downtown Indianapolis as their first stop in a very memorable adventure. They may disagree on who is going to win the game, but they both agree that this is going to be a weekend they’ll never forget. Some of their plans include hitting the NFL Experience and hoping to bump into Manning or Brady to get their Super Bowl memorabilia footballs signed before heading into Lucas Oil Stadium for the long-awaited chance to see a Super Bowl.
