Berlin 14s Win Section Championship

Next step is to play best 2 out of 3 for state championship.

The Berlin 14-year-old Little League All-Stars won 9-8 over Milford in an extra inning thriller tonight to win the Connecticut state sectional championship.

Berlin overcame a 7-4 deficit in the bottom of the seventh innings with big hits from Logan Taricani and Ryan Lea and patient bases on balls to get to extra frame.

In the final frame Alec Norton hit a one-out double and the continued patience paid off with a walk off base on balls by Dan Dunham.

Excellent pitching was provided by Matt Welch, Kyle Wollman, and Bill Conticello. Berlin also played spectacular defense led by Lea, Welch, Anthony Sisti, and Brandon Carasiti.

Berlin advances to the state championship against Burlington Saturday. The first game will be played at 4 p.m. at Brinley Field in Orange. Berlin and Burlington will play a best two-out-of-three series.
