Bears' C Team Earns Berth In Finals

Berlin beats Bloomfield to advance to title game Sunday at Scalise Field.

The Berlin Bears C team defeated Bloomfield C team by a score of 7-6 on Sunday at Sage Park in the semifinals of the Connecticut Youth Football League. Berlin (8-0) will now continue on to the CTYFL State Championship game on Sunday, Sage Park, at 10 a.m. versus the Windsor C Team.

Berlin got on the scoreboard first fueled by a 35 yard run by RB Raylend Wilson which put the ball on the 5 yard line. On the ensuing play, RB Alex Halkias scored on a 5 yard run putting Berlin ahead 6-0. Berlin's conversion was good with a pass from QB Sam Capodice to TE Giancarlo Tufano making the score 7-0 Berlin.

Bloomfield answered back before the half, with a 3 yard touchdown run making the halftime score 7-6 Berlin. 

In the second half, Berlin defense had numerous 4th down stops to preserve the 7-6 Berlin win.

The defense was led by Tyler Tralli, Ryan Terlecky, Nick Paszczuk, JP Gorneault, Danny Lynch, Sebby Fusco, Jack Melville, Zach Hrubiec, Matt Wojciechowski, Sam Riedel, Alex Halkias, Kevin Dunn, Giancarlo Tufano, Raylend Wilson, and Tyler Dinkins.
