A Baseball Lover's Holiday Dream

Rock Cats hold WinterFest this Saturday

It may be baseball's offseason, but New Britain Stadium will be rockin' this Saturday for the Rock Cats WinterFest and all fans are invited.

The New Britain Rock Cats annual WinterFest features a great lineup of fun, free, activities for the whole family.

Kids can take their picture with Santa Claus, the Cats' favorite mascot, Rocky, and all of Rocky's mascot buddies.  Complimentary food and refreshments will be served throughout the day.

The festivities kick off at 10 a.m. and run until 2 p.m.  The event is open to the public.  Other activities for fans include: kids holiday arts & crafts, free gift-wrapping and plenty of holiday shopping in the Rock Cats Third Base Team Store, with up to 50 percent off everything.

As a part of WinterFest, the Rock Cats want your help as they help others this holiday season.  The team has partnered with the United Way of CT to host the Games, Gloves, & Gear Drive at WinterFest.

Donate items to the drive and receive complimentary tickets to the Rock Cats Opening Night on Thursday April 14, 2011. The Games, Gloves, & Gear Drive will donate items to The New Britain Salvation Army, Prudence Crandall Center, and Catholic Charities.

The items being collected are: Games - unwrapped board games and card games, Gloves - winter gloves and mittens and gear - undergarments, socks and coats. Also on deck for the day are Rock Cats holiday gift packages featuring tickets, kids merchandise, MVP packages, ticket plans, gift cards and more.

In the spirit of giving, with the purchase of a "Rock Cats Claw Pack" (12 ticket vouchers), the Cats will donate a "Claw Pack" to a Connecticut Foster family in conjunction with Connecticut Association of Foster and Adoptive Parents. Details for the event can be found online at www.rockcats.com or by calling 860-224-8383.
