Time To Get 'Nuts'

BHS and McGee 'Techo-Nuts' will compete in FIRST Connecticut Regional robotics competition this weekend.

The “Techno Nuts” student robotics team from Berlin High School and the McGee Middle School will be participating in the Northeast Utilities FIRST Connecticut Regional robotics competition Friday and Saturday, April 1-2 at the Connecticut Convention Center, in Hartford.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days and is free and open to the public.

They are among 58 teams that will operate remote controlled robots they designed and built in the arena competition. Beginning with a box of parts and no instructions, students and their mentors had six weeks to build, program and test their robots to meet this season’s engineering challenge.  The winners of the regional will advance to the FIRST International Championship Event in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 28-30.
