Shout Out To 'The Red Sea'

Host Athletic Director praises the student section's spirit and behavior.

This is a note Berlin Athletic Director Jim Day received from the Athletic Director of Bulkeley High School, Diane Callis. "Not only do our athletes and coaches display the highest level of sportsmanship so do our student fans. You can't pay enough for the kind of positive image our athletic department creates for our school system and community." Day said.

Good Morning Jim,

I would like to commend your student fan section for their great support of your team and their sportsmanship throughout the game.  They cheered hard but always appropriate and were pleasant to talk to when at our concession stand.  The best part of my evening was when we had trouble with the national anthem.  I was in the process of ejecting the first disc and putting in another anthem when your group took it upon themselves to start singing the anthem.  We decided to let them continue and everyone joined in.  What a great thing for you, your school and the CCC.

Your girls played a great game and never gave up.  They were in our gym for awhile after the game and I had the chance to chat with a few of them while I was handing out some extra cookies we had.  They were very gracious even though you could see the disappointment in their faces.

Please extend my congrats for a great season to your coach and team.  And a special thanks to your student fan section.
