Now is the time to apply. This is the final week for parents, grandparents, and guardians of children entering prekindergarten to Grade 12 to apply to attend one of the outstanding public schools in the Greater Hartford region through the Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) lottery for the 2013-2014 school year.
Open Choice programs in 26 school districts and 37 theme-based magnet schools offer dedicated teachers, high quality instruction, and the latest learning technologies to fuel students’ success and best match their talents, needs, and interests.
RSCO, which offers assistance to families interested in exploring these public school options and applying for their top school choices, will close its lottery application period on Thursday, January 31, 2013.
Until then, families may apply online by visiting the RSCO website at www.choiceeducation.org and clicking on “Apply Now.” Families may also visit RSCO’s Parent Information Center, open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and located at 165 Capitol Avenue, Room 270, in Hartford, to submit an application and have questions answered by RSCO staff. The Parent Information Center will be open for extended hours, until 6:00 p.m., on January 31.
Families with questions about the RSCO lottery application process should visit or call the Parent Information Center at 860.713.6990.
