Northwest Catholic High School Names New President

David C. Eustis Jr. of Simsbury takes over immediately as president of the West Hartford school.

 

Northwest Catholic High School announced Wednesday that David C. Eustis Jr. of Simsbury has been selected as president and will assume the new role immediately.

Eustis was named to the position by Hartford Archbishop Henry J. Mansell after a thorough search, according to a news release from the school. Principal Margaret Williamson will remain in her position, according to the release.

“A career in education has been my vocation since graduating from college. I have a passion to make a difference,” said Eustis in the release. “I want to lead by example, meet goals, grow the school, grow the endowment, grow the annual fund, continue to make capital improvements, and prepare the school for the next great 50 years. I see Catholic education as even more important today and I want to be a part of that growth engine that is going to move forward.”

Eustis comes to Northwest Catholic from Cheshire Academy, where he was associate head of school. According to the release, his past experience includes over 20 years in the development and business management, much of which was in the field of education. He formerly served as president of Junior Achievement of Eastern Massachusetts from 2007-2011.

“We welcome Mr. Eustis to our community,” said Williamson in the release. “Northwest Catholic is well-positioned and ready to benefit from David’s expertise and enthusiasm.”

Northwest Catholic School Board Chair and president search committee chair Terry Becker said in the release, “I am pleased to welcome Mr. David Eustis to the Northwest Catholic family as President of our school. David will be a tremendous addition to the extraordinary faculty, staff, and administration that work tirelessly to educate our children in the Catholic tradition of Northwest Catholic High School.”

Eustis graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a BS in Human Performance and holds an M. Ed. in Athletic Adminsitration from Springfield College. According to the release, he is president of the Simsbury Youth Hockey Association and past president of the Simsbury Little League. His wife Eileen is an assistant principal at Simsbury High School.
