Nine Berlin Students Awarded Scholarships by Community Foundation of Greater New Britain

60 Total Scholarships Presented to 55 Students from 40 Funds

The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain has awarded a total of $145,430 in scholarships to 55 students from Berlin, New Britain, Newington, Plainville, Southington and other towns, helping them to pursue their dreams at higher education institutions in Connecticut and beyond. Among them were nine Berlin graduates.

Overall, the Foundation made 60 scholarship awards this year from 40 of its named scholarship funds.

Jerry DeJesus, Vincent F. Biscoglio, Sr., Memorial Scholarship (Western Connecticut State University); Taylor Gilleran, Kimberly R. Miller Scholarship (CCSU); Ramsha Khan, Josephine Suits Arts Scholarship (Tunxis Community College); Julia Kipphut, Gloria Biscoglio Bosco Memorial Scholarship (UConn); Madison Macke, Gloria Biscoglio Bosco Memorial Scholarship (Southern Connecticut State University); Emily Michaud, Helen T. Bianca Nursing Scholarship (Villanova University); Stephanie Parillo, Harold M. Sussman Memorial Scholarship (UConn); Gabrielle St. Jarre (2), William J. Tomasso Scholarship and Dominic DelConte Memorial Scholarship (Northeastern); Christopher Von Achen, James W. McDermott, Jr., Memorial Scholarship (UMass Amherst).

 Established in 1941, the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain connects donors who care with causes that matter in Berlin, New Britain, Plainville and Southington.
