McGee To Hold Red Bandana Day

Day will honor 9/11 firefighter and raise funds for Manzi Scholarship Fund.

Many teachers at McGee showed their students a clip that recently aired on ESPN. The clip tells the story of Welles Crowther, a young man that worked in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. He saved the lives of at least 12 people, but he lost his own life trying to save them. His story is one of the many tales of heroism that came out of 9/11.

As a result, McGee Middle School will be sponsoring Red Bandanna Day on Friday, September 16.  “The Red Bandana” aired on ESPN last week, and it tells the inspiring story of a young man who saved the lives of 12 people in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. In honor of Welles, and all the heroes in the world, we would like to invite everyone at McGee to wear a red bandanna on Friday.

Good Cause Gifts, located on 150 Mill Street (behind Cutting Edge), is working with us to sell red bandannas. They are giving a percentage of the profits to charity. Please help us raise money for the Joe Manzi Foundation and wear a red bandana this Friday.
