It's Not Too Early To Think About Back To School Shopping

As hard as it is to believe, summer is almost coming to an end. August has just begun and school shopping is on most people’s minds this month.

College students report even earlier than the local schools. Many of those students and their parents have already started to stock up and get ready to report back to school. 

Most schools in Berlin start at the end of August, so most of the back to school shopping is going to be done in the beginning to mid-August. Before you make the trek to the nearest mall, make sure you are familiar with the resources we have in Berlin, as they are plentiful and the deals are the same, if not better than, what you would find elsewhere.

There are many stores in town and on the turnpike that are having back to school savings this month. Filene's Basement, right off the Turnpike, is having back to school discounts beginning mid to end of August. I love their selection of leggings, and their designer purses and shoes are at unbeatable prices.

Suburban Sports on Farmington Avenue is having 10 to 25 percent off everything. They carry bicycle sales throughout the season for those students who love to commute on bike.

Micky Finn’s is also having a big back to school sale closer to end of august. They have a great selection of shoes, backpacks, and clothing. I swear by their jean selection, and sometimes I find better deals there than I do at Macy’s.

As usual, Echo Consignment on Main Street is also the place to shop before heading back to school. Vintage is always in, and they have a great selection. They also carry some designer brands; if you dig through the piles of clothing you might find a gem.
