UConn Alumni Association Announces New Members of the Board of Directors

 

The University of Connecticut Alumni Association announced new and returning members of the Board of Directors for fiscal year 2012-2013.

The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Alumni Association and is elected by its members. This year, two new members were elected and four incumbents were re-elected to the Board. They will each serve three-year terms.

The new members are Jerold Mande ’78 (Hamden, and Washington, D.C.) and Nicholas R. Roy ‘06 (Manchester).

Re-elected board members are Steve Blovish ’80 (Ellington), Laura Cahill ’84 (Glastonbury), Sara-Beth Donovan ’97 (West Hartford), and Lori Riiska ’84 (Winsted).

Courtney Marsolais ‘13 (Lynnfield, Mass.), president of the Student Alumni Association, has been appointed to serve a one-year term as Student Representative on the Board.

On June 2, the members of the Board elected the following officers for the 2012-2013 fiscal year: Eric Judge ’87, ’92 (Windsor), president; Dennis Cavanaugh ’78 (Glastonbury), immediate past president; Laura Cahill ’84 (Glastonbury), president-elect; Lori Riiska ’84 (Winsted), treasurer; and Francis Onofrio ’81 (Kensington), secretary.

“I am excited to welcome new members to the Board and to be working with a group of high-caliber individuals,” stated Lisa R. Lewis, executive director of the UConn Alumni Association. “They and the returning members will undoubtedly add invaluable expertise to the ongoing efforts of the Alumni Association.”
