Boys Lacrosse Still Unbeaten

Offense, led by Jimmy Nolan, has been hard to stop.

BOYS LACROSSE

Berlin 11, Bristol 6: The Berlin High School men's lacrosse team moved to 4-0 on the season by defeating Bristol, 11-6.

The highlight of the game was the offensive onslaught by the first and second line midfielders and attackmen. Bruce Cutkomp led the team with five goals and two assists, Michael Markiewicz netted three goals and had two assists, Jimmy Nolan scored two from long range, and Ryan Wearne had one goal.

On defense, Tyler Bouchard and George Stevens were solid, scooping up four ground balls apiece.

Berlin 8, Rocky Hill 3: On a night filled with mixed emotions, the Redcoats lacrosse team continued its winning ways on Wednesday night, moving to 5-0 on the season after a quick-paced, physical game against Rocky Hill.  

Michael Markiewicz, Bruce Cutkomp, and Brandon Ralph all contributed one goal apiece.

The big story on offense was midfielder, Jimmy Nolan, who netted five goals and dished out two assists. He also won a commanding 6-for-8 on face-offs.  

The defense, after a shaky start, settled down by the end of the first quarter and only allowed one goal in the final three quarters. Jeff Gotta was solid in goal, stopping 12 shots in the night.

Berlin's next game is Friday, April 29, at Bristol Eastern High School.  The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
