Berlin Will Sponsor Beginning Summer Music Clinic

Music teachers in town have a vision to have a beginning band camp for incoming fourth grade students to get a head start on their instruments.

The town of Berlin is sponsoring the First Beginning Band Summer Music Clinic. It is for students entering fourth grade. 

The camp will be held at Catherine McGee School from 9:00 a.m. to noon on August 14, 15 and 16. The Berlin High School Redcoat Marching Band will also be rehearsing at McGee and we are excited for our young musicians to get a sneak preview of their half-time show!

The clinic will be run by the Berlin Music Department faculty. Our goal is to help you:

  • Get familiar with your new instrument
  • Meet your teachers
  • Learn how to take care of your instrument
  • Put your instrument together and produce a sound
  • Getting to know you activities

Our staff includes:

  • Corinne Terlecky - Music Teacher at Catherine McGee School
  • Marlene Bradshaw - Music Teacher at Catherine McGee School
  • Melanie Lawson -Music Teacher at Willard School 
  • Shelby Ryan - Music Teacher at Hubbard
  • Alice Broisman - School Nurse at BHS

If your child has a medical need, a nurse will be on site at all times.  Please send medication in a zip lock bag clearly labeled with your child's name for the nurse on Wednesday.
