Town Council Will Discuss Roof Replacement At Willard School

Project would cost $1.7 million and be bonded by the town.

The Town Council will meet tonight, Tuesday, March 5, at 7 p.m. in Council chambers.

The agenda for the meeting contains just a few items but one major item will be posed to the council.

The Town Council will discuss and presumably take action on whether the town picks a company, Joseph Fasi LLC to prepare documents such as bond authorization and bid documents for a replacement of the Willard Elementary School roof.

From there the Town council and Town Manager will schedule and advertise a public hearing on the matter March 19 at 6:45 p.m. before the next Council meeting.

The town is prepared to pay $1.7 million on the replacement of the roof at Willard.

The public hearing will read as follows: “AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $1,700,000 FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE EMMA HART WILLARD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ROOF AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUE OF $1,700,000 BONDS OF THE TOWN TO MEET SAID APPROPRIATION AND PENDING THE ISSUANCE THEREOF THE MAKING OF TEMPORARY BORROWINGS FOR SUCH PURPOSE.” - Public Works
