Meeting will begin Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. with public hearing on two ordinances in town council chambers.

Note: Meeting will be shown on Comcast Channel 96 and at U-Verse 99 on Wednesday, June 8th and Sunday, June 12th at 6:00 p.m.

The Town Council of the Town of Berlin will meet at Berlin Town Hall, Council Chambers, 240 Kensington Road, Berlin, CT on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 @ 6:30 p.m. for the purpose of holding a public hearing on the following proposed ordinances entitled:

  1. “ORDINANCE TO WITHHOLD PERMITS WHEN TAXES ARE DELINQUENT.”
  2. “ORDINANCE TO AMEND JUNKED, WRECKED, ABANDONED PROPERTY SECTION OF MUNICIPAL CODE.”

 Copies of said proposed ordinances are on file and open to public inspection at the Office of the Town Clerk.

 Following the public hearing, the Town Council is expected to consider and act upon the ordinances.

  9. Topic re: Approve the purchase of one 2011 Ford Taurus from Crowley Ford for an amount not to exceed $22,885.50 utilizing the State of CT Department of Administrative Services contract # 10PSX0239. – Municipal Garage

10.  Topic re: Approve a Resolution authorizing Town Manager, Denise M. McNair, to sign and execute all necessary Agreement/Contract documents along with all necessary Agreement/Contract documents, on behalf of the Town of Berlin with the Department of Transportation of the State of Connecticut.  This is to accept a 2008 wheelchair accessibility bus for the Senior Center at no cost to the town. - Community Services

11.  Topic re: Award Construction Bid No. 2011-23 for the Mary E. Griswold School Bus Canopy Masonry Repairs and Restoration to John Filloramo Construction of South Windsor, CT., in the amount of $123,500.00 and authorize the Town Manager to enter into change orders if necessary to bring the total construction contract to an amount not to exceed, $140,000.00. - Public Building

12.  Topic re: Approve a transfer of $148,000.00 (per the breakdown on the attached spreadsheet, which is incorporated by reference) between various Public Works Accounts to eliminate budget shortages in the 2010/2011 fiscal year. – Public Works

13.  Topic re: Authorize the Town Manager to utilize the attached bid results for the Equipment Rental Contract (#2011-24) when issuing future purchase orders to the three firms that submitted proposals (The Pepin Corporation, LaRosa Construction, and J.V. III Construction, Inc.) depending on which one results in the lowest cost to the Town. – Public Works
