The Year Without A Halloween

Mayor urges residents to not trick or treat this evening.

Saying that the conditions are just too dangerous, Mayor Adam Salina issued a statement through the school's emergency telephone system asking parents to keep their children hom tonight on Halloween.

"There are many parts of town that do not have power and it would be impossible, even with flashlights, to see downed wires or trees that have broken apart," he said. "Even the neighborhods with power will have a tough time because of the conditions on the roads, ith snow and braches littering the yards.

"I urge you to stay home tonight but if you do go out and trick or treat, use extreme caution. I would say there might not be many people answering their doors tonight so it might not be worth it."
