continues his push for education reform with a town hall meeting tonight in Berlin.
The meeting takes place from 7-8 p.m., at the School, at 899 Norton Road.
Malloy, whose reform package is coming under fire from teachers and their unions, will discuss the need to improve the state’s public school system. Parents, students, teachers and other concerned members of the public are expected to attend.
This will be the 9th town hall meeting Malloy has held as part of his Education Reform Tour.
His reform package, which includes a contested plan to tie teacher tenure to evaluations, has also recently come under increased scrutiny by members of his own party in the legislature. The General Assembly’s education committee this week approved a scaled-back version of Malloy’s plan, but the governor has vowed to veto the bill if it is approved by the legislature.
