Library Announces Children's Programs
April vacation will feature many activities for students.
Storytimes are a half-hour program featuring stories, fingerplays, songs, and a short movie. Each week an early literacy skill will be highlighted. There are 6 early literacy skills: print awareness, phonological awareness, letter knowledge, vocabulary, print motivation, and narrative skills. No registration is needed for these programs
Mondays 10:30 a.m. for toddlers ages 18 to 36 months
Tuesday 1:30 p.m. for preschoolers aged 3 to 6 years
Wednesday 11:30 a.m. for babies from birth to 18 months
Thursday 10:30 a.m. for all ages

April 8-12 – the five senses

Saturdays at the Library
Saturday April 6 at 1:30 p.m. – Movie: Hotel Transylvania rated PG, lasts 90 minutes.
Saturday, April 13 – Construction Club at the Library for grades first grade and up –registration required.
School vacation week:
Monday – April 15 – 1 p.m. – grades 3 and up – Brain Fun! Teasers, building challenges, paper cup stacking, and more. Registration required.
Tuesday- April 16 – 1 p.m. – Comic Creations - grades 3-5. Team up to invent a story using panels from comic strips. Registration required.
Wednesday- April 17 – 6:30 p.m. - All ages – family fun – Steel drum ensemble. This family program features music from the Caribbean. Children are encouraged to try out the various instruments.
Thursday – Music storytime – 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. – all ages – drop-in – Stories to sing and songs with stories. Join Pete the cat and other favorites.
Saturday – Explore the world around you – 1 p.m. - grades K-5 with a parent/guardian. Register. Uses your senses on a spring nature walk. Afterwards come in for a story and a cup of “mud” snack.
Poetry month – Grades 1-6 – submit your poem - April is poetry month. See the library for entry details.

Playtime – Friday 10 a.m. to noon - Drop in – no registration. Weekly throughout the year. Opportunity for babies, toddlers and preschoolers to play and socialize together with parents in the large meeting room of the library.
