Blizzard 2013: North Haven Ends Its State of Emergency

The state of emergency issued by North Haven First Selectman Michael Freda on Saturday was finally lifted Wednesday afternoon, as the town continues its dig out from the Blizzard of 2013.

The state of emergency issued by North Haven First Selectman Michael Freda on Saturday was finally lifted Wednesday afternoon as the town continues to make progress with its dig out from under the historic snowfall of the Blizzard of 2013.

Freda said yesterday the focus for town crews moving forward would be "widening main roads to insure access for public safety and to improve travel conditions for cars," according to message via the CT Alert system.

North Haven Public Schools as the town's storm recovery continues.

The town has cancelled trash pick up for this week. Trash pickup will resume next Monday, Feb. 18.

Also, the parking ban put in place by the North Haven Police Department has been extended until further notice from the town.

Without regard to his political party affiliation, which I do not share, Mr. Freda has proven himself to by an excellent leader who seems to worry more about his responsibilities to all of the people of the Town than he does about partisan politics. And he gets the job done. It is appreciated.
