Update: Outside Legal Counsel To Be Hired To Deal With Berlin High School Renovation Project

Those attending Town Council meeting tonight will not hear any new plans or action for high school but simply the appropriation of funds to hire legal team.

The third item under new business of the Town council agenda for its meeting tonight reads: Discussion and possible action concerning Berlin High School renovation project. – Town Manager/Public Works

People attending the meeting, however, will not hear any new plans and the Council will not take any action except to appropriate funds to hire outside legal counsel to represent the town going forward.

The new Middletown High School project had trouble midway through and needed legal help to keep the project moving. Berlin will hire the same legal team and the City of Middletown.

So while the Town Council would love to hear from people and have great attendance at all of their meetings, Mayor Salina will likely address those in attendance before the audience of citizens of the sole action the Council will take tonight.

At this point, the Public Building Commission has kicked the high school project back to the Town Council since it has come in over budget. The Council will have to decide what to do next.

Note: Meeting will be shown on Comcast Channel 96 and at U-Verse 99 on Friday, September 14th at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 16th at 11 a.m. and again at 8:30 p.m.
