Biggest issues facing the school system: Continuing to develop our educational program to meet the needs and expectations of our community and its children over the long term. This encompasses many important issues: Support and encouragement for administrators and teaching professionals who are researching, developing, proposing and implementing the "cutting edge" means and methods of instruction for all our grades levels; Support for further facility improvements and maintenance throughout our schools; and Support for community outreach activities that further the understanding and involvement by our residents and business in the mission to continue to develop our Town's educational system into one that our children will reap the benefits from throughout their lives.
Any areas of special interest that you would like to concentrate on if elected: Facility development; educational technology; and professional development programs.
Anything else you would like to add about yourself and why you hope the voters will choose you: I am lucky to be the father of four children who attend Griswold School. I and they are also lucky that my wife and their mother is a pre-school teacher in a surrounding community. Raising well-rounded and well-educated children takes effort and commitment from not only parents, but from the BOE, its teachers and administrators, as well as the Town as a whole. I'm trying to get involved in every aspect of this incredible mission so I can play my part in supporting the effort needed to be successful; and maybe, along with others, make a difference to the next generations of Berlin boys and girls.
