Aresimowicz Honored for Commitment to 'A Healthy Connecticut'

The House Majority Leader received the recognition from the Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Connecticut.

The following was submitted by Ryan Rose, Senior Advisor to the Majority Leader.

The Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Connecticut honored House Majority Leader Joe Aresimowicz (D-Berlin & Southington) with an award for his outstanding leadership and advocacy in protecting children from harmful chemicals at the coalition’s annual meeting.

Each year, the coalition identifies legislators that have demonstrated commitment and leadership to support proposals to reduce exposure to toxic chemicals.

“The Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Connecticut is thrilled to honor Representative Joe Aresimowicz for his leadership and support of our work to protect children from toxic chemicals in consumer products,” said Anne B. Hulick, RN, MS, JD, the Coordinator for the Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Connecticut.

“We are grateful to Representative Aresimowicz for his support of policies that will protect our most vulnerable citizens and look forward to working with him to continue Connecticut's leadership in this area.”

The coalition is a diverse entity of 60 member groups and thousands of concerned citizens across the state united in their goal to raise awareness of the health impacts of exposure to toxic chemicals in consumer products and to press for more health protective chemical policies at the state and federal levels.

Member groups include the American Lung Association, Central Connecticut Oncology Nursing Society, CT Association of Directors of Health, CT Association of Public Health Nurses, CT Association of School Nurses, CT Nurses Association, and the CT Public Health Association, among others.
