Lt. J. Paul Vance was the key note speaker on Tuesday at the Kensington-Berlin Sunrise Rotary Club Visitor’s Day Breakfast held at the Berlin Community Center.
Sixty people attended the breakfast which was free and open to the public. Vance commended Rotary which is the largest service organization in the world and specifically the Kensington-Berlin Sunrise Club for their commitment to the Amber Alert System.
Vance explained that in case of abduction or missing child, the State Police can notify the public almost immediately through the Amber Alert System. Vance covered many topics of state police work and then welcomed questions from the audience.
Scott Skates, President of the Kensington-Berlin Sunrise Club presented the Gift of Words Scholastic Dictionary to Lt. Vance. President Skates took the opportunity to recognize and thank those individuals and businesses who have supported the club since it was chartered in 2004.
He also recognized the newly formed Berlin High School Interact Club whose members, along with the Berlin First students, were present at the event
