Tuesday at noon, the Senior Center is conducting a luncheon for seniors to present the roll out of an educational public service announcement (PSA) produced by the Berlin Police Department and written, directed filmed and edited by 2011 Berlin High School student Austin Nunes with assistance former BHS
The video presents the Special Needs Registry, Key Keeper and AARP #3035 File of Life programs conducted and supported by the police department's first responder health and safety initiative for Berlin residents.
The PSA film featured local residents and Berlin Senior Center members Barbara Gombotz and Mary Clarkson. Also featured are Berlin Police officer David Cruickshank and disptatcher Richard Petano, and support from Hunter's Ambulance Service.
The video presents the integration of the three programs to assist residents when they need emergency medical assistance or have been locked out of their homes or vehicles.
Currently the Special Needs Registry has 56 participants and the Key Keeper has 107 participants. The File of Life, sponsored by Friends of Berlin VNA, has many participants from the Senior Center and community.
Following the lunch at 12:45 pm the video will be featured and recognition given to all those who helped make this project possible.
