Quick Arrest Made in Suspicious Package Incident

Neighbor allegedly left package which led to Bomb Squad being called.

The Berlin Police Dept. has made an arrest after a suspicious package was placed on the driveway, in front of the garage door, of 1243 Worthington Ridge Sunday afternoon.

Police arrested Louis Palardy, 37, of 1263 Worthington Ridge and was charged him with breach of peace. His court date is August 13 but was released on $1,000 bond.

"There was a bag found on the driveway by the homeowner and we could not identify what was in it so we called in the State Bomb Squad to identity what was inside," Berlin Police Assistant Chief John Klett said. "They X-rayed the bag and found that it contained a Bible wrapped in duct tape and some other items."

Police questioned Palardy and he cooperated with Berlin Police.

"He didn't make any direct threats but there have been some other incidents at that property (1243 Worthington Ridge) that we are investigating," Klett said. "This person has had some issues with a prior homeowner."
