'Noxious Scent' Leads to Evacuation of Library; No Harm Found

The Berlin Peck Memorial Library was evacuated as a precaution, but no dangers were found, fire officials said.

Those looking to enjoy the library Tuesday night got more drama than they bargained for.

Police and fire officials closed the facility, located at the government complex off Kensington Road, and evacuated those inside after residents and staff reported a noxious scent coming from inside the building.

The closure was just temporary, however, as no dangerous gases or potential harm was found, police dispatchers said.

Further details were not available on Tuesday night.
