Ashes from a chimney were moved to a garbage bin and 45 minutes later turned into a blazing house fire in the garage of a home on Brandegee Lane near Berlin High School.The house was saved, as firefighters contained the fire to the garage.The American Red Cross is responding after the fire on Brandegee Lane. The Red Cross will be meeting with a family of five – two adults and three children – to assess their emergency needs after the fire and assist if necessary.
