Glastonbury Police: Soccer Player Brought Gun onto Field After Fight

Police say a man brought a gun to Oakwood Sports Center of Glastonbury after an argument Sunday night.

An angry soccer player who police say brought a gun onto the indoor soccer field at Oakwood Sports Center was arrested late Sunday night.

Sean P. Vincent, 29, of 218 Laurel St., Apt. B6, Hartford, was arrested on charges of first-degree threatening, first-degree reckless endangerment, breach of peace and suspended registration after police say they received a call from the Oakwood Sports Center at 40 Oakwood Drive.

Police say Vincent had been involved in a fight with another player earlier that caused the referee to end the game. Vincent then left and returned with a gun. He didn’t point the gun at anyone during the incident, police said.

Officers stopped Vincent in his car nearby after he had left Oakwood Sports Center and driven away. He had a permit for the handgun, police said.

He was held in lieu of $30,000 bond, and was due to be arraigned today in Manchester Superior Court.
